Rent the Museum

Please note: Beginning on Monday, May 20, 2013, the Culinary Arts Museum will be closed to the public. During this period of temporary closure, the museum staff will conduct a total inventory of the collection. The museum will reopen to the public for the start of the 2014-2015 academic year.

The Culinary Arts Museum is happy to host meetings and special events for community organizations which align with the museum's statement of purpose and/or the university's mission.  Located just four miles from downtown Providence, the Culinary Arts Museum at Johnson & Wales University provides a unique setting for your next event. 

 

 

Capacities and rental fees for each space are below.

Non-profit groups may be eligible for a discount through the university's LINC (Local Initiatives for Neighboring Communities) Committee.

Museum

The Culinary Arts Museum provides a unique and intriguing setting for your next dinner, cocktail reception or business meeting.  The Museum space can accommodate up to 160 guests for a seated dinner and up to 350 guests for a cocktail reception with limited seating.

$2000 for 3 hours, $500 for each additional hour

Theater

The Culinary Arts Museum theater is our most versatile space in the museum, as the seating and table arrangements are not stationary.  For example, the room can accommodate up to 160 guests in a presentation-style seating arrangement.  It may also be arranged for up to 120 guests for a seated dinner.  Rental of the theater includes a projection screen, a podium and microphone, as well as a sound system.

Diner

Our 1950s soda fountain, referred to as “the diner” is located within the Culinary Arts Museum’s 4000-square-foot diner exhibit.  If it is a fun and casual atmosphere you seek, the diner provides the perfect setting.  Complete with retro-style tables and chairs, as well as a soda fountain bar, the diner seats up to 40 guests.

Catering Services

The Culinary Arts Museum utilizes catering services provided exclusively by Johnson & Wales University. There are a number of dining options available through the university, and our event coordinator can assist you in making the perfect selection.  

*The museum holds a limited inventory of tables and chairs, which are included with the rental of any space in the museum. Any additional tables and/or chairs must be rented at the customer’s expense.
