What goes around comes around, and the
classic diner has enjoyed a resurgence, thanks to the popularity of
retro styling. The look of the diner from the Golden Age was rediscovered
in 1988 when the Kullman Company (which built the entrance to this exhibit)
manufactured new diners based on old designs. In the 1990s chain restaurants
also took advantage of the nostalgic trend by advertising diner-style
fare and cloaking some of their buildings in diner garb.
